About Internews

Internews works in dozens of countries around the world to provide communities the resources to produce local news and information, all the way from building radio towers to training journalists. Since 2002, we have partnered with USAID to restore and develop media access in post-conflict Afghanistan.
Our presence in Afghanistan over the past 10 years has improved the reach, quality, and sustainability of local media, giving Afghans better access to the news and information and the means to make their voices heard. We helped create the Afghan media non-profit Nai, whose mission is to promote open media in Afghanistan, and the Pajhwok Afghan News Agency, which is the only Afghan-run, independent news agency in the country.
